On-Site COVID-19 Testing

All CES attendees must be FULLY vaccinated against COVID-19.  We also request that attendees test for COVID-19 within the 24 hour period prior to entering a CES venue.

  • Press attending Media Days – we ask that you test before entering the CES venue at Mandalay Bay on January 3rd.

  • CES Show Attendees – we ask that you test before attending CES starting January 5th.

  • Non-U.S. Based Attendees – International travelers must show a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one day before travel to the U.S. Please check the CDC website and your airline website for the latest requirements.

Complimentary Self-Administered COVID-19 Rapid Tests

CES will distribute one complimentary Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Self Test kit, provided by Abbott, to each attendee upon retrieving their badge. Each test kit contains two individual tests, and test kits are available at select badge pickup and Customer Service Center locations listed below. If you pick up your badge at a location that does not have test kit distribution, you may proceed to one of the Customer Service Centers to pick up your test kit.

CES recommends attendees use their first complimentary Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Self Test within 24 hours prior to entering an official show venue. The test is easy to use, requires only a shallow nasal swab, takes 15 minutes and can be done from the convenience of your hotel room. Because the BinaxNOW Self Test should be used for serial (frequent) testing, our recommendation is that attendees test themselves twice over 3 days while attending CES, using their second test with at least 24 hours (and no more than 48 hours) between the tests.

Testing if You Are Experiencing COVID-19 Symptoms

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms while at a CES venue, please immediately visit a First Aid area in the venue in which you are located to obtain a rapid molecular Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT). You will be asked to remain in an isolated observation area and will receive test results within 25 minutes.

If you test positive with a molecular test while in a CES venue, we will provide a service to drive you to your hotel. Per CDC guidelines, there is a 10-day isolation period, so you will not be able to return to CES and we will ask for your badge. Once you return to your hotel, the quarantine policy of the hotel takes effect. Each Las Vegas hotel has its own policy and we encourage you to check your hotel's website for their policies if you require additional information.

Our medical team will be able to offer you recommendations for your specific condition if requested.

If you feel ill, please do not come to the CES exhibit facilities. You may use your Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Self Test or go to one of these locations to obtain a COVID-19 test.

PCR Testing for International Travelers Returning Home

CES will provide free RT-PCR tests for attendees who are traveling back to their international destination and who require a test to travel. Attendees will be required to present proof of outbound international travel within 72 hours of testing to be eligible. Please bring your trip confirmation and your passport to the testing facility.

Attendees who do not meet the above eligibility criteria but would like to test during the show or require a PCR test prior to departing CES, may pay for a test at one of the designated testing locations.

Testing will be offered at the following locations Jan. 4-8, 8 AM-6 PM daily:

  • LVCC, West Hall, W201

  • Venetian Expo, Venetian Ballroom A

  • ARIA, West Convention Space, Level 1, Bluethorn 8

Note: to best serve our non-U.S. based attendees, outbound testing will continue to be provided on Jan. 8, despite the show closing early on Jan. 7.

Schedule your test in advance or read instructions on how to sign up and schedule your test. Results will be provided via the Global Virus Pass application within 12-24 hours of taking the test.

On-site COVID-19 Testing FAQs

Find answers to frequently asked questions about on-site testing below. This page will be updated on a regular basis.

BinaxNOW uses proven lateral flow technology and is a highly accurate tool for detecting active coronavirus infections, allowing people to know their COVID status in 15 minutes. Rapid antigen tests like BinaxNOW work best at detecting when people are infectious and therefore transmit the virus to others. BinaxNOW has been analyzed against Delta and Omicron with no predicted impact to detection of both those variants and other variants of concern.

CES attendees are encouraged to download the COVID Trace app developed by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. The mobile application uses a technology called the Exposure Notifications System from Google and Apple. Learn more here.
