Scaling Health Care Innovations with an App
October 21, 2019
The ClickMedix vision is a world where everyone has one-click access to effective health care, regardless of race, gender or income level.
Founded by faculty and students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Carnegie Mellon University, ClickMedix aims to increase the capacity of physicians and health organizations around the world to serve more patients. If existing medical experts can serve a wider audience, we can address global challenges, such as:
-
Lack of access to health care.
Lack of funds for individuals to afford or be subsidized for health care.
Lack of medical resources.
Through a mobile app, ClickMedix delivers integrated, patient-centered care, including teleconsultations, e-prescriptions, one-click referrals, medication management assistance and more. Their turn-key products cover a range of medical needs, from diabetes or heart disease management through assessment protocols and alerts, to mental health management for a professional triage of mental health status.
Mobile health (mHealth)-trained professionals are able to use the app to better care for patients worldwide, even recruiting and enrolling new patients and video consulting with them with the click of a button.
The Clickmedix solutions connect health service providers to patients in need, reduce the cost of service delivery and enable the real-time collection of health data of patients for optimal patient care.
Already used worldwide, ClickMedix has reduced wait times for patients from months to less than 72 hours. It has also allowed physicians to serve 4 to 15 times more patients and created new jobs for community-based and home-based health care services.
“We first used mobile phones for remote diagnoses in Africa – to see if we’d just flat out fail ... Instead, we were able to save many lives,” said Ting Shih, CEO and founder of ClickMedix.
