Article Summary

At CES® 2021, companies showed the ways beauty is in the eyes of the tech holder now. New innovations in beauty and wellness care that can make any consumer put their best face forward.

The world of beauty and cosmetics has expanded far beyond tubes of lipstick in a store. Particularly accelerated by social distancing measures and stay-at-home orders of the past year, tech innovations in the industry such as customized and virtual try-ons, tech-powered beauty consultations, personalized smart mirrors and more have taken center stage for beauty.

At the all-digital CES® 2021, speakers and exhibitors brought to life next-generation beauty technologies, meeting new demands for digital solutions and personalization in skin care, try-ons and more.

Registered attendees of CES 2021 can sign in to the digital venue to explore and connect with the exhibitors below through Feb. 15.

Amorepacific

Amorepacific’s products Formularity and Lip Factory by Color Tailor are CES 2021 Innovation Award Honorees in the health and wellness category. Formularity is the first at-home beauty device that dilutes an ampoule to a single dose toner dispensed on a cotton pad based on the user’s skin condition. Lip Factory is a lip makeup pigment manufacturing system and can produce customized makeup in the desired color immediately. Internet of Things (IoT) technology precisely mixes the pigments in 0.01-gram increments.

Light Tree Ventures

The rising demand for non-invasive treatments led Light Tree Ventures to create products in light therapy that help in beauty, sports and medical industries. In beauty, medical-grade blue and red LED light therapy can help significantly reduce acne and acne scarring, offer anti-aging treatments, and help with hair growth and oral care. Blue and red LED lights can calm inflammations by killing bacteria and also repair and rejuvenate through wound healing and stimulating blood flow.

Lululab

Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) deep machine learning, Lululab’s Lumini PM smart mirror — which won Lululab a CES Innovation Award for the third consecutive year — functions as a personal assistant that provides custom skin care analysis. The smart mirror recommends the most appropriate cosmetics, homecare devices and health care products through analyzing the user’s skin with a selfie and understanding lifestyle data. The smart mirror also connects the user with others with similar skin characteristics.

Perfect Corp

Perfect Corp transforms the beauty experience for customers, beauty brands and retailers through AI, augmented reality, facial recognition and more. Perfect Corp’s tech solutions include YouCam Makeup, which enables use cases such as hyper-realistic hair color try-on and AI smart shade finder for foundation matching. Through augmented reality integrated into livestreaming tools, Perfect Corp solutions also allow viewers to digitally try on products that influencers may be talking about during livestreams.
