buddy-in
‘buddy-in’ is a cutting-edge digital therapeutics designed for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social Communication Disorder (SCD) through Digital Social Skills Training. Delivered as a social simulation game set in a school environment, it offers engaging and interactive practice by adapting to each user's progress to tailor the learning experience. Children and adolescents can use ‘buddy-in’ independently on their mobile phones and practice with caregivers to perform real-world activities that help generalize the skills learned in digital therapeutic. The gamified design enhances user engagement and adherence to the program. With its simple structure—just 15 minutes per day, five times a week for six weeks—‘buddy-in’ fits seamlessly into home-based routines. In a randomized, controlled pilot clinical trial, the initial safety and efficacy were statistically demonstrated. Currently, a confirmatory clinical trial is underway, aiming for approval from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in 2025.
