He developed KB Home’s Energy Performance Guide® (EPG®), which for the first time provides homeowners with a HERS Index Score and estimated gas and electricity costs for every KB home. Recent projects include the expansion of KB Home’s line of net-zero energy homes; building over 115,000 ENERGY STAR certified homes, and 6,000 homes with solar PV; building the most WaterSense® labeled homes in the nation; and building more than 150 LEED Platinum certified homes. Jacob also prepares the annual sustainability reports released by KB Home, the first national homebuilder to do so. KB Home has earned the ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award, one of the highest honors a homebuilder can receive from EPA, for seven consecutive years, and the ENERGY STAR Climate Communications Award for three years in a row.
