buddy-in
‘buddy-in’ is a digital therapy device designed for social skills training in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It uses school-based simulation games to provide personalized social skills practice. The app, installed on the child’s mobile phone, allows independent use and offers realistic missions for home-based practice. It includes key therapy features, rewards to enhance compliance, and allows for parent-child practice. ‘buddy-in’ pairs with caregiver and admin apps for monitoring progress. The program, used for 15 minutes a day, five times a week over six weeks, was approved in 2023 after demonstrating initial safety and efficacy.
