Novel Flash LiDAR with SiPM Sensor and Diffraction Optics
- 2025 Honoree in Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility
The Flash LiDAR is a technology designed to enhance the capabilities of high-level autonomous driving. This system operates on the Flash Mode of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) using the Time-of-Flight (ToF) method. The Flash Mode is enabled by Diffraction Optics, which distributes the laser beam across the field of view with a flexible scanning rate up to the kHz range. The integration of a CMOS-based microSiPM Optical Sensor ensures high sensitivity and provides 3D camera imagery, including ranging information, with intelligent on-chip processing. The system's compact design and modular structure make it versatile for various automotive applications.
We reveal First Long Range FLASH qLIDAR with superior characteristics built around QUANTUM SENSOR with Silicon Photo Multiplier (SiPM) architecture - No mechanical moving parts, 1 laser + 1 sensor - 76mm x 46mm x 41mm size - Long Range 400meters - Dynamic Frame Rate up to 2kHz - Time Resolution ~20ps - Overall Resolution 1000H x 128V
