In response to the urgent health need, Abbott scientists developed a monkeypox PCR test for use in labs globally. Abbott scientists developed the monkeypox test to run on the company’s Alinity m laboratory instrument, which can be found in hospitals and central labs around the world. Our scientists designed this test with two targets, giving it the widest range of detection possible in the face of mutations. Alinity m laboratory instruments can run up to 20 assays at one time and deliver 300 results every 8 hours.
