Marelli is the first lighting manufacturer to develop and bring to market red LASER technology paired with rear lighting functionality. To produce this lamp, Marelli developed a red LASER diode for first-time use in an automotive application. Marelli then coupled optical sidelight fibers within the LASER, resulting in a very thin illuminated line, allowing for a unique and stylish brand signature.<br><br>As an added benefit, Marelli’s LASER wire technology is lighter than current state-of-the-art plastic light guide solutions. Light guides are used in rear lamps to direct light from the light source to a place where light is needed.
