WIMAGINE: Brain-Computer Interface technology
WIMAGINE is a unique Brain-Computer Interface Technology based on a brain recording implant and dedicated AI algorithms to record and decode patient movement intents, enabling them to regain mobility in everyday tasks by controlling dedicated functional effectors. <br>This technology has already enabled two world firsts. In 2019, a tetraplegic patient was able to control a 4-limb exoskeleton using his brain activity (Benabid et al., Lancet Neurol., 2019), and in 2023, a paraplegic patient regained natural control of walking thanks to the coupling of CEA’s WIMAGINE technology with a spinal cord stimulator (Lorach et al., Nature, 2023).
