XK-SM 100 was initially conceptualized by insurance companies wanting to find a way to automatically monitor for stress from office employees. With the recent pandemic "stress management" has been an issue for a wider audience which included healthcare workers and even consumers who faced extreme stress during lock down. Xandar Kardian partnered with lighting and sound engineer companies who developed ways to de-stress occupants using circadian rhythm and sound effects. They needed a sensor that can help provide "stress measurement". XK-SM uses radar to collect vital signs including HRV to inform the systems on when and how to react accordingly.
