She is the Executive Director of Neurotech Network, a nonprofit organization. She lives with tetraplegia and a user of an implanted neural prosthesis. She is Past-President of the NA SCI Consortium and 2024 Craig H. Neilsen Foundation Visionary Prize recipient. With Drs. Hochberg & Lennerz, French launched the Implantable BCI Collaborative Community (iBCI-CC), a forum dedicated to advancing iBCIs.
